Independent jewellery brands increasingly rely on digital spaces not only to sell products, but to express identity. When the work is tactile and personal, the website becomes an extension of the object itself — shaping how it is understood before it is worn.
Billie Grand is a Margate-based jewellery studio creating bold, sculptural pieces inspired by fluid lines, abstraction and asymmetry. Each piece is handmade and deliberately distinctive, reflecting a design approach rooted in individuality. The site was designed and developed within Shopify as an extension of this same sense of confidence into a digital context.
Working from the brand’s core idea — bold jewellery for bold people — I developed a visual and structural system shaped by Shopify’s framework. Rather than treating the website as a container for content, it was designed as part of the brand expression itself, shaping how the collection is experienced online.
The result is a digital presence that balances expression and function — carrying the character of the jewellery into the interface while supporting the practicalities of buying online.

Alongside the site, I designed a bespoke ring size calculator to help customers find their fit with confidence. It was developed in response to a clear need from the studio: a simple, accessible way to reduce uncertainty in sizing. Rather than sitting as a separate utility, it was integrated directly into the Shopify purchasing flow.
